July in the Coachella Valley means one thing above all: the entire desert throwing itself a birthday party for the ages, with this year's Fourth of July carrying extra weight as America marks its 250th. Add free outdoor concerts under the stars, dive-in movies, and a brand-new fan convention at Acrisure Arena, and you've got a month that proves summer here is anything but slow. Here's everything worth circling on your July calendar.
The Fourth of July weekend takes over the entire valley this year, with six standout celebrations spread across four cities — plan your route and catch more than one.
Palm Springs throws a 3-day birthday party for the country, and this year it doubles as a nod to America's 250th. VillageFest kicks things off July 2 with live music and crafts, a free Dive-In Movie lights up the Swim Center July 3, and July 4 itself fills Sunrise Park with a pool party, a Palm Springs Power ballgame, a free concert from Bob Seger tribute act Turn The Page, and a 9:15 p.m. fireworks finale that lights up the whole valley sky.
