Splash, Taste, Ride, and Laugh Your Way Through Summer!

The Hamilton Real Estate Group July 22, 2024

As the summer sun blazes across the Coachella Valley, there's no shortage of exciting activities to keep you entertained and cool. Whether you're looking to dance the night away poolside, savor gourmet delights with a top chef, or challenge yourself in a competitive bike race, there's something for everyone. Beat the heat by diving into the refreshing pools and water parks scattered throughout the valley, or check out our local venues, which have an incredible lineup of comedians and musicians ready to entertain.

THINGS TO DO

Splash House: Aug 9-11 & 16-18

Splash House is a music festival that combines electronic music with poolside fun. The festival spans three resorts: Margaritaville, Renaissance, and Saguaro, and attendees can expect a vibrant mix of electronic music, poolside parties, and unique desert experiences. This year’s event will feature an exciting lineup of DJs, including renowned artists like Chris Lake, The Blessed Madonna, and SG Lewis.

Taste Buds with Carolina Schiff: Aug 16

"Taste Buds by Caroline Schiff" is part of a summer guest chef series presented by Ace Hotel Palm Springs and King's Highway. Caroline Schiff, a James Beard-nominated Executive Pastry Chef, cookbook author, and culinary public figure, will curate a special menu for this event.

Tour de Big Bear: Aug 3

The Tour de Big Bear 2024 is a premier cycling event offering various routes ranging from family-friendly rides to challenging 100-mile courses. A cycling expo complements the event, and additional rides like the Poker and Glow Rides and welcomes cyclists of all abilities, including e-bike riders, for road events.

Palm Springs Ariel Tramway

Visiting the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the perfect way to beat the heat! Visitors can escape the desert heat with significantly cooler summer temperatures, typically 30-40 degrees lower than the valley floor. You’ll enjoy two restaurants with panoramic views, over 50 miles of hiking trails, guided nature walks led by State Park Rangers, and a natural history museum.  And you can still purchase a summer pass allowing unlimited admission all summer!

Stay Cool In The Pool

There’s no better way to stay cool this summer than enjoying one of the valley’s many sparkling pools and water parks. One of them has an actual sand beach, and day passes are available, so you don’t have to book a room to enjoy them! Here are a few of my favorites!

  • Ace Hotel & Swim Club: Experience a retro-chic daycation where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool, relax in the hot tub, and savor delicious dishes and craft cocktails.
  • Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa: Here, you can splash and play in a large pool with a sandy beach area, relax in a jacuzzi, and dine poolside.
  • Hyatt Regency Indian Wells: Featuring seven pools, a twisting water slide, a winding lazy river, and a splash pad for children and a serene adults-only Oasis pool.
  • JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort: A unique poolside experience where you can take a boat or a bridge to reach the scenic pools, surrounded by world-class golf courses, swaying palms, and stunning mountain views from the main Oasis Pool.
  • Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa: This family-friendly resort offers three distinct aquatic experiences: the Conchilla Valley Pool, the adult-only Azure Pool, and Splashtopia Water Park with waterslides, a cliff-side hot tub, sandy beach, and water-play zones.
